Powerful music manager GogglesMM


Today I am going to introduce you a tiny little simple music manager, named Goggles Music Manager. Yes, it is a simple music manager but has some powerful options.
Goggles Music Manager for LinuxThough it can play music, developer called it music manager, not music player. Because it can short songs very fast in genre, artist, album, and has a very powerful tag editing system. It is very fast and light weight. Can start quickly, have not splash screen. This lovely application built for Linux Operating system. You can use in most kind of Linux distro like Ubuntu, Arch, BSD, Suse, Gentoo, Mandriva, Slax, Sitaz etc. And source code is open to all. So it is easy to rebuild it in your own style. The features are listed below.

Some features:
  • Supports Ogg Vorbis , FLAC, MP3 , MP4 , ASF and Musepack music files.
  • Support for AlbumArt embedded in tag or as separate file on disk.
  • Tag editing and file renaming capability (batch). One or more tracks may be edited at the same time.
  • Smart sorting with user configurable leading word filter to prevent sorting on common words like the, a or an.
  • Support for play lists. Play lists may be played in a certain configurable order, or browsed through like the main music library.
  • Export music library and play lists to XSPF,PLS,Extended M3U,M3U and CSV.
  • Clipboard & DND (drag-and-drop) support to arrange playlists and dragging to and from gnome / kde applications.
  • Uses xine multimedia library for gapless playback and buildin equalizer.
  • Written using FOX, one of the fastest GUI toolkits available. Support for FOX-1.6.x and the latest development version FOX-1.7.x.
  • Customizable icons. Either use buildin icons or use an existing gnome/kde icon theme.
  • Configurable user interface from minimalistic to detailed view. Full screen mode available with FOX-1.7.11.
  • Clean and fast database backend using SQLite 3.
  • last.fm audio scrobbler support. (libre.fm supported as well)
  • Replay Gain support (Ogg Vorbis, FLAC and mp3 with APE tags).
You can change the GUI size of this application to save space of your desktop.
It takes only 8.2 mb ram to work and use only 2% resource of your system.

?? You need libxine1-ffmpeg for Ubuntu Karmic Koala and libxine-extracodecs for Ubuntu Jaunty. So insltall these before run Goggle Music Manager.
Type the codes below in terminal and press enter, input password, the rest process will done by system.

For Ubuntu Karmic Koala

sudo apt-get install libxine1-ffmpeg
and
for Ubuntu Jaunty

sudo apt-get install libxine-extracodecs
